The Northern Plains Chapter of the SDSMA met in August in Aberdeen. Fund raising ideas were discussed and continuing education on diabetes and phlebotomy were offered.
In November a second meeting was held in Watertown with a good turnout. Discussion was held concerning how to get younger and new medical assistants involved in chapter meetings. It was also discussed on how to encourage medical assistants to take the CMA exam. A quilt raffle was decided on for a fundraiser. Presentations were given on HIV/AIDS, oral health, and recognizing psychiatric illnesses.
